The Path of the Eclipse
This site has a close-up look at the path of the eclipse across the U.S.
Use Caution!*
You've probably heard people say, "never look directly at the sun." Well, it's good advice, especially during the eclipse.
It's important to use special glasses or a pin-hole projector to view the eclipse. Here is a link for how to watch the eclipse. *Note: this is a suggested site and provided for guidance only. I encourage you to do your own research and protect your eyes during the eclipse. |
I learned a lot researching the eclipse and preparing my letter for the August edition. This site, The Natural Navigator, has some easy-to-understand graphics that can help you locate and navigate using the stars.

Moon Links
In the writing tip for August, I mentioned a few moon-related songs, books, and movies. Here are links:
Frank Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon Moon, the movie (I haven't seen it but it gets good ratings from Rotten Tomatoes!) Moonstruck, the movie (this one I did see, and liked it, and it gets good ratings from Rotten Tomatoes!) Goodnight Moon, the book (this link has "11 Fascinating Facts" about the book) |
